Liga Gazette No 1

EUROPEAN GAZETTE

The new season in Europe kicks off on Wednesday night with the new look 12 club Liga (Italian and Spanish clubs) and Liga B (French, Dutch, German and Portuguese clubs). Managers, clubs and fans will be excited ahead of the season, here we give a brief run-down on the clubs and likely finishing positions.

Atalanta -
Newly promoted to Liga, with manager Stevie in charge who had good spell at Inter Milan before staying in Italy and moving to the club. The club bought in Edin Dzeko to prove the scoring threat, Chellini and Schwaab will give the experience at the back, but we think the club will struggle without further investment.Prediction:
Relegation 12th

Atletico Madrid -
Last season Runners U with a strong squad and not lost any players from last season and with newly appointed Gary G who is an experienced manager they will be up there fighting for the league title. No major signings as yet, but with one of the strongest attacks with Suarez, Costa, Lacazette and Benzema.
Prediction: 2nd Place

AC Milan -
Former European Champions promoted into the Liga, appointed manager Limerick Gunner been quiet in pre season, no transfer activity or friendlies played so tough to assess the team. Carlos Bacca will be their threat in attack, defense has experience and some good players.
Prediction: 7th Place

Barcelona -
Barca always have a strong team and with Bale, Aguero, and Morata in attack, Coutinho and Di Maria in midfield they have a real attacking threat. Manager Alfredo joined towards end of last season and some good wins, so Barcelona will expected to be challenging for the title.
Prediction: 4th Place

Deportivo La Coruna -
Deportivo have been promoted to Liga and have manager Jose Mourinho at the helm, a shrewd manager and unpredictable with tactics and formations. He has invested well and with Romelu Lukaku, Ricarlison and Fernando Torres in attack they have goals. Digne, Semedo and Darmian will prove a solid defense. The team could play well and expect a top half finish.
Prediction: 6th

Fiorentina -The Italian side have been promoted to Liga, currently with no manager it could be a tough a season. A very average looking side with no real stars, unless investment is spent on players they will struggle against some of Europe's heavyweights.
Prediction: Relegation 11thI

nter Milan -

Last Season's Cup Finalists, this season with no manager they may struggle to do aswell as last season. No new players have arrived, the club have maintained most of last season's players so will still have a strong team the strike partnership of Gabbiadini and Gabriel will still be potent.
Prediction: 9th Place

Juventus -
The Old lady have a Caretaker manager in charge who will do his best for the club while they seek a manager, another club who have maintained last season's strong squad although they did not have a good season.Paul Pogba and Rugani are the two standout players, but the club have a strong midfield with Sterling, matic and Mata and will certiainly prove tough to beat.
Prediction: 5th Place

Lazio -
Lazio have been promoted to Liga and were quick to appoint Title and Cup winning manager Chelseablues, with their manager they have experience of title winning and will be up there. The gaffer has invested wisely, bringing in Neymar from his old club to provide the goals, Iniesta and Cazorla will provide attacking options from midfield. At the back Caceres and Wallace will prove tough to beat and experienced Keeper Proto to keep the clean sheets.
Prediction: 3rd Place

Real Madrid -
Manager David very experienced and a very strong squad Real will be favourites for the title, in attack Dybala and Cavani will be expected to step up and bang in the goals. The midfield is one of the strongest with Luca Modric, Thiago and Isco providing the backbone, defensively strong with Varane, Ramos and Marcelo there wont be many backing against them and David.
Prediction: Champions

Real Betis -
The Green and Whites appointed Premier League title winner Simeone Inzaghi as manager who had a great season with Tottenham and only 1 league defeat winning the title. But with Betis will really have his work cut out for him, brought in Sadio Mane the only striker currently at the club but a good signing. Fernandinho will add metal in midfield but they need more quality for a good season.
Prediction: 8th

Villareal -
The Spanish side were promoted to Liga and appointed Ronaldo the former Bayern Munich manager who had a very good season last time out. But this season will have a hard time with the small spanish side, the signing of Jamie Vardy from Leicester City was a great signing and should score goals.Midfield is the weak area and needs investment.
Prediction: 10th

Liga B

The new look Liga B has several clubs who should be favourites for the league title and Champions League, favourites will be last season Champions Olympique Marseille although their boss has gone they have hung onto most of their squad, stars Vente and Mezine will be key players.PSG are likely to challenge and with superstar Kylian Mbappe in attack will give teams problems, they do need some investment in players to be at same level as Liga big boys.Bayern Munich will also be up there challenging as always, Alexis and falcao will again lead the attack, Kroos and Robben commanding midfield.
Title Favourites: Olympique Marseille

TRANSFER / LEAGUE NEWS:-
The new Liga and Liga B set-up is looking strong, only Fiorentina and Inter Milan are without managers for the start of the season. PSG have managed to hold onto to star striker Kylian Mbappe rejecting bids in excess of £200 million. Clubs are still busy trying to bring in last minute players Lazio are chasing Manchester City's Riyadh Mahrez. PSG's Rabiot could be signing for Atletico Madrid, could Gareth Bale be on his way?
