WELCOME TO THE BLADES

Here we bring the latest news every week from Sheffield United Football club......
Latest news the club have confirmed that the appointment of "Diego Simeone" is confirmed and the new manager will arrive at the club later today after leaving Nottingham Forest earlier this morning.

Benitez comes with much experience and managing several big clubs, so could he be the man to revitalise the Blades as they make a return to top flight football?  Many at the club think yes, the fans think yes, so what will he bring to the come? We hope to get some words from the new boss later today on his arrival.

United Manager Calls in Players

This morning the new Sheffield United boss called in his players for there first team meeting and discussing tactics and plans for club.  We understand the meeting lasted several hours with the boss "Diego Simeone" laying out his plans and letting players know who will be staying at the club and who will be released by the club.  We have learned that strikers Bill Sharp and David McGoldrick have been assured they are important to the club, midfield and defense are clearly seen as weak areas and need investment if United are to compete well in the new look Premier League.
With no real stand out defenders and midfielders we would guess around 8-10 players will most likely recruited to strengthen the squad, meaning that 10 players will definately be leaving Bramall Lane.
The transfer markets prices have increased in recent seasons so this could prove a tough task for the new boss, who is likely to base his midfield around Spanish passing and playmaking midfielders as he does favour a more attacking style of play.

Whatever develops over next few weeks at Bramall Lane it will exciting times ahead with the Argentinian manager at the helm.

New Players Arrive

Sheffield United welcomed two new acquistions to bolster their squad, England International midfielder Jesse Lingaard joined from Tottenham Hotspur the former Manchester United players will bring some experience and ability to United's midfield.
The club also signed out of favour Tottenham striker Valere Germain, the former Monaco and Marseille striker will bring goals and should prove a focal point for United's attack.  The club have indicated that they are looking to bring in more quality players that the new boss "Diego Simeone" has requested so the team can play his formation and tactics.
Players had their first training session today with the gaffer, Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick look sharp and in good form, clearly defense and a keeper are priorities for the club.
We hope to get an interview with the gaffer in the next 24 hours.....

Blades Latest....

Sheffield United have had a busy week in the training ground working on their playing formation and getting the players working with the formation and tactics. News coming out of Bramall Lane is the club have submitted offers on up to 6 players they want to bring in and improve the defense and midfield, the manager "Simeone" seems happy with his strikeforce.  On the training ground Billy Sharp, Dave McGoldrick and new signing V Germain are settling well and look like they will provide many goals in the Premier League.
Its rumoured that Jesse Lingaard will be named Captain for the season, bringing his experience for England and Manchester United to the team, much is expected too from Basham and Lundstrom to back up Lingaard and provide the metal in the middle of the field.  Its likely that a keeper will also be needed as Simon Moore is not the most reliable of keepers.
Expectations are high at the club and manager "Simeone" stated:-
"I have a two year plan, this season we are looking to finish around mid table and stablise, then the following season will look for a top 6 finish.  I want to also develop the Under 21s as this will save the club money in the future if we can find the right targets".

The club welcomed two new defenders in Cuco Martina and Ashley Williams from Everton and they have sttled in well during training, the club have also just agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon for 30 year old defender Jefferson to further bolster their defense.

More New Players

Sheffield United continue their rebuliding program with another new player arriving at Bramall Lane, midfielder Jonjo Shelvey arrives to boost midfield, with several players leaving the club.
The manager has been working hard in strengthening the team, has missed out on several targets and still battling away to sign several more players.
A goalkeeper and defenders are the priority at the moment and club officials will continue scouting looking for suitable targets.

Re: Welcome to the Blades

United Manager Fuming

Another disappointing night last night for Sheffield United in the EFA cup, already knocked out shocked in 1st round of the League Cup now they have been humiliated again and knocke out of the EFA Cup 1st Round.
Although the Blades shaded possession, they went down 1-0 to Championship AFC Bournemouth and wasteful with scoring chances and today we understand the boss was fuming and very angry with his players and called them into an emergency meeting this morning.
All is not well at Bramall Lane, several players have expressed concern over formation and tactics and there is a battle of wills between the manager and players currently which is undermining performances on the pitch.
