Los Rojiblancos - Sevilla FC

Sevilla FC are excited and looking forward to being in the new look La Liga next season, they have today announced in Spanish Football Press that "Simeone" has take the job as Head Coach on a 2 year deal.  The new boss has a chequered short career having struggled with Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, before arriving at Sheffield United in the Premier League.  He has done a great job taking the Blades to top 5 all season before moving to Everton short term and struggled.  Have Sevilla gambled on the man?

Only time will tell, but the fans came out to meet the new boss and seemed happy with many autographs given out as the boss went into the club to meet the players.  The club have several good players at the club, former Manchester City midfielder Jesus Navas will be key with experience and playmaking, Gonalons and Marco Rog will also be key with several clubs already chasing Rog.
In attack Ben Yedder is likely to be key, and Nolito should provide some experience, Simon Kjaer and Mercado will be the base of defense but investment will be needed in defense. We understand from a leaked source that the new boss plans to change the style and formation the club play with a new look for next season.

Re: Los Rojiblancos - Sevilla FC

A disasterous Sevilla Cup on Sunday night, with host club Sevilla FC finishing bottom of the group with no wins.  Sevilla tested out a 3-5-2 formation which did not seem to favour the team, first match was a 5-1 defeat by Premier League and eventual winners Portsmouth.  The home side only had 34% possession, with 1 shot on target and only 8 key passing moves, it was clear the boss was angry with his team and how they failed to play football.
The boss stuck with the formation for the game with Italian giants Juventus, and went more defensive and the club battled for a 1-1 draw, again only 29% possession, 1 shot on target which Amadou scored in the 1st minute.  Again the team struggled to pass the ball and only managed 6 key passes.
Their final game was against Udinese and proven winning manager Chelseablues, the boss again stuck with the 3-5-2 but chose more attacking style of play which served up a thriller in a 9-4 defeat to the Italians.  Much better performance with 16 of 27 shots on target, 19 key passes and 37% possession, with El Haddadi, Nolito, Navas and Ben Yedder scoring the goals.

The boss has a real headache now to assess with the 3-5-2 formation is playable, also whether to play more attacking style which the 3rd game produced goals and better performance.
Everyone will be interested to see how they line up on Wednesday night in their last friendly.
