Forest News.....

News From City Ground

Nottingham Forest confirmed they have appointed unknown manager MickeyW today to take charge of the club, the Canadian manager arrived at midday and toured the City Ground and met with his players and club officials.
Not much is known about the new boss, but the club must have seen something to appoint him as the boss, we have learned from the club that the manager was warmly greeted by the players and many of them were impressed with his comments on how he wants the club to play football.
Now the work begins for the new boss, the club were unlucky to lose to Southampton 1-0 last night, and currently lay in mid table with only 2 wins from 7 matches so lots for the boss to sort out and get the team playing well.

League Cup Woes

Last night the Nottingham Forest Academy tried their best but lost out to Peterborough United 2-1 on the night and that's both Forest teams out of the League Cup this season.
The Academy did pass the ball well but lacked possession which proved costly on the night, now its back to concentrate on the leagues are earn promotion to the Premier League.
The new boss MickeyW has settled in well and sorting out his team and backroom staff, Chris Wilder has been appointed Assistant Manager and brings much managerial experience himself with a 352 formation, coaches have been appointed with experienced former players Shay Given, Simon Ireland, Rory Delap and James Beattie all joing the club.
These coaches were all good players and bring a wealth of experience to the club.

First League Win for Boss

Nottingham Forest manager MICKEYW was a happy man this morning with his first league win since taking charge at the City Ground.  It was not pretty but a 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth is seen as a start for the boss, Eric Lichaj put in a good performance with the winning goal and the Man of the Match.
Forest were tight defensivley and kept the match tight with the squad working well together, and now the team will look to grow and mount a promotion challenge.

Forest Boss Admits Promotion Lost

Nottingham Forest boss "MickeyW" admits defeat in the promotion race after the club lost 3-2 to Middlesborough on Sunday night despite putting on a good performance.
Forest had more the shots on target and passing the ball, but failed to take their chances and after starting the game well succumbed to defeat.
Forest have had an up and down season, rallying into the promotion race and then several defeats have pushed the club down to towards the relegation zone and currently 5th from bottom just 3 points away from relegation at the halfway point of the season.
Sami Khedira has been the main man on midfield in a duo with Sherbani, but their are rumors that Khedira is looking to leave the club which alert many of the big clubs.  The boss has stated he may now look to strip the team and rebuild towards next season and a promotion push next season, fans on social media also stated they dont think the club are good enough for promotion this season.

So now the Board and management need to start looking towards next season.....

Re: Forest News.....

Good Festive Period for Forest

Nottingham Forest had a good festive season, started out with 1-1 draw against Burnley and a good performance. Tarkowski put in a man of the the match peformance in defense, Forest should have won the match they had more of the ball and with good passing they outplayed the Clarets, but lack of good strikers again proved the problem of scoring.
On Boxing Day, Forest travelled to high flying Blackburn Rovers who were in great form, and came away with a good 2-1 win thanks to goals from Sterling and Woodburn.  Another match where Forest dominated the possession and the passing, this time out Saul was the key man with everthing in midfield going through the Spanish midfielder.  James Milner again showing his experience was also a key man in the midfield with his passing ability and that was 4 points from 6 over xmas.
Into the EFA Cup 3rd round, and again Forest dominated the possession and passing against Norwich City and came away with a 1-0 win through Solanke and into Quarter Finals.
Manager "MickeyW" seemed delighted with squad through a hectic holiday season and now look to finish as high as they can in the final run of the season and build towards next season.

Re: Forest News.....

D DAY FOR FOREST

Sunday could decide Nottingham Forest's season, currently in 4th place in the Championship on 31pts joint with 5th place Burnley but Forest are 6 goals to the good.  A tough trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal who are already promoted could prove a day of celebration or disappointment and tears.
A Forest victory would guarantee promotion, a draw or defeat would be relying on Burnley do who have the easier last 2 games and then all going to the last match.
At the start of the season Forest were expected to go straight back up, but struggled through the season until the appointment of Canadian "MickeyW" to take the club forward.  He has helped the club turn things around and play better football, 4 wins in 5 matches have pushed Forest into 4th place.
Now the team need to lift themselves and give Arsenal and good match and grab the win, then celebrations could be wonderous.....

Team News
Dawson is suspended, so changes needed in defense, otherwise midfield and attack will remain unchanged.

Re: Forest News.....

FOREST PLAYERS ON HOLIDAY

After a dramatic end to the season and Nottingham Forest achieving promotion back to the Premier League at the 1st attempt the players are now away on holiday and a well earned break.  Meanwhile the boss "MickeyW" has confirmed he will be remaining at the club for next season which is a big relief to club officials and fans with all the managerial changes going on at the moment.
We understand the boss has met with the Board and discussed plans going forward at the City Ground, and possible targets to bring tinto the club.

Forest's midfield were key in their success in the season and the stats of their best 4 will show:-
S Khedira           56 Passes in 25 games - avg 2.24 passes per game
J Milner              57 Passes in 19 games - avg 3.0 passes per game
Saul                   44 Passes in 18 games - avg 2.44 passes per game
M Sherbani        40 Passes in 18 games - avg 2.22 passes per game

In attack has already been shown as the weakness of the team with only 2 1st team strikers 20 year old Sterling who scored 13 goals in 27 games and 23 year old Solanke with 10 goals in 27 games.
The boss will need more firepower for a much faster, more technical Premier League if Forest are to stay up which will be the target having just gone back up.

FOREST MAKE PLANS

Nottingham Forest have been busy over the last few days scouting around Europe for talent to bring to the City Ground as they look to build in the Premier League.Midfielder Sami Khedira has been transfer listed as the player handed in a transfer request and wants to move back to Europe, Forest have stated they are willing to deal if they can get a striker in any deal for Khedira.  Meanwhile the players are enjoying their holiday break while "MickeyW" the boss has had several meetings with owner Evangelos Marinakasvan.
We understand they have been making plans on the field and discussing targets to bring into the club, with Forwards a priority as many in the social media have pointed out, Forest only have two strikers at the club.
The Academy does not have any players strong enough to move up to the 1st team so Forest will have to spend big to bring in some strikers.

NEW SIGNINGS ARRIVE AT FOREST

Nottingham Forest fans welcome their new signings to the club, 21 year old French Hot Prospect Marcus Thuram son of Lilian Thuram signed for the club, followed by Brazilian striker Gustavo.
New Zealand defender Scott Hilliar also signed for the Midlands club to boost manager "MickeyW's" squad for the season with the club spending out £126 million.
Forest now have 5 strikers at the club and depth to rotate in all areas which was their weakness last season,   Sami Khedira still wants to leave the club but as yet no clubs have come forward for the midfielders signature, bad news is defender Coates is out  injured for 7 matches but the club have depth to rotate the defense.

Re: Forest News.....

Khedira Transfer Listed

Nottingham Forest at the request of long time unsettled Sami Khedira have transfer listed the midfielder, he has for sometime stated he wants to play for a bigger club than Forest.  Many of the Forest fans have turned against him and would like to see him gone from the club, we understand Forest and Khedira have both rejected Liverpool attempts to sign him.
Khedira stated "I want to play for a big club, and a club that will win trophies I do not feel Liverpool can do that this would be bad move for me".

Boss "MickeyW" will now be awaiting teams to contact him, we have learned that Bayern Munich, Paris St Germain and Borussia Dortmund have made approaches for the player, english clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United have also made approaches.
Meanwhile, Forest prepare for an away trip to Crystal Palace for the 1st Round of the League Cup on Sunday missing two key defenders in Coates and De Bock.
The boss has stated he will give starts to several of the younger players, hot prospect Marcus Thuram (son of Lillian Thuram) will be give a start in attack, Sherbani will make his first appearance of the season in midfield.  Out of favour striker Sterling will also get gametime.
